Background
Enhancing the resilience of Switzerland’s energy transition in a changing climate
In the coming decades, the Swiss energy infrastructure is set to a massive transformation driven by the proliferation of renewable, often distributed, energy sources and the decarbonization of the energy demand. At the same time, climate change is expected to expose Switzerland to prolonged drought periods and extreme precipitation events.
In addition, ICT and artificial intelligence technologies become increasingly interlinked with the energy system. In this context, the RECIPE consortium has been selected for funding by the Swiss Federal Office of Energy SFOE as part of the Call 1-2023 on “Critical Infrastructures, Climate Change, and Resilience of the Swiss Energy System” to analyze potential future risks to the Swiss energy system infrastructure, economy, society, vital resources, and ecosystems, and develop effective measures and strategies to enhance its reliability and resilience.

Building a resilient energy future together
RECIPE develops data and knowledge products on hazards, vulnerability and risks, organizes workshops and events for exchange, and shares actionable recommendations fostering a sustainable and resilient energy future for Switzerland in alignment with the country’s energy and climate policy goals.
